Cuisine American
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 inch (approximately) fresh ginger, chopped
- squeeze of fresh lemon juice*
- honey**
Place chopped ginger and water in a medium sauce-pan over high heat.
Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
Simmer uncovered for at least 10 minutes.
Add lemon juice, then strain into your favorite mug.
Allow to cool for ~5 minutes.
Add honey and enjoy!!
*I found squeezing 1/2 of a lemon was too much, but 1/4 of a lemon was too little for my taste buds. This is totally dependent on how much lemon juice YOU like, so start with a little and keep tasting and adding until you have the flavor you want!
**If vegan, use maple syrup or agave for sweetener.
