Homemade Ginger Tea with Honey and Lemon

This healthy, warming drink is cheap, easy, and ready in just a few minutes. Grab your coziest sweater and sip away!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 inch (approximately) fresh ginger, chopped
  • squeeze of fresh lemon juice*
  • honey**

Method
 

  1. Place chopped ginger and water in a medium sauce-pan over high heat.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
  3. Simmer uncovered for at least 10 minutes.
  4. Add lemon juice, then strain into your favorite mug.
  5. Allow to cool for ~5 minutes.
  6. Add honey and enjoy!!

Notes

*I found squeezing 1/2 of a lemon was too much, but 1/4 of a lemon was too little for my taste buds. This is totally dependent on how much lemon juice YOU like, so start with a little and keep tasting and adding until you have the flavor you want!
**If vegan, use maple syrup or agave for sweetener.
